Ghazal 362: The meeting has come about, and the kiss and the embrace as well

دیدار شد میسر و بوس و کنار هم
از بخت شکر دارم و از روزگار هم

زاهد برو که طالع اگر طالع من است
جامم به دست باشد و زلف نگار هم

ما عیب کس به مستی و رندی نمی‌کنیم
لعل بتان خوش است و می خوشگوار هم

ای دل بشارتی دهمت محتسب نماند
و از می جهان پر است و بت میگسار هم

خاطر به دست تفرقه دادن نه زیرکیست
مجموعه‌ای بخواه و صراحی بیار هم

بر خاکیان عشق فشان جرعهٔ لبش
تا خاک لعل‌گون شود و مشکبار هم

آن شد که چشم بد نگران بودی از کمین
خصم از میان برفت و سرشک از کنار هم

چون کائنات جمله به بوی تو زنده‌اند
ای آفتاب سایه ز ما برمدار هم

چون آب روی لاله و گل، فیض حسن توست
ای ابر لطف بر من خاکی ببار هم

حافظ اسیر زلف تو شد از خدا بترس
و از انتصاف آصف جم اقتدار هم

برهان ملک و دین که ز دست وزارتش
ایام کان یمین شد و دریا یسار هم

بر یاد رای انور او آسمان به صبح
جان می‌کند فدا و کواکب نثار هم

گوی زمین ربودهٔ چوگان عدل اوست
وین برکشیده گنبد نیلی حصار هم

عزم سبک عنان تو در جنبش آورد
این پایدار مرکز عالی مدار هم

تا از نتیجه فلک و طور دور اوست
تبدیل ماه و سال و خزان و بهار هم

خالی مباد کاخ جلالش ز سروران
و از ساقیان سروقد گلعذار هم

The meeting has come about, and the kiss and the embrace as well;
I give thanks to fortune, and to the times as well.

Ascetic, be off, for if my star is truly my star,
the cup will be in my hand, and the tress of the beloved as well.

We find fault with no one for drunkenness and the way of the rend;
the ruby lip of the idols is sweet, and good wine as well.

O heart, I give you good news: the censor is no more,
and the world is full of wine, and of idols who drink it as well.

To hand your mind over to distraction is not cleverness;
ask for a quiet collectedness, and bring a flagon as well.

Pour a draught from his lip over those of love who are made of dust,
so that the dust turns ruby-red, and scented with musk as well.

Gone is the time when the evil eye kept watch from its ambush;
the enemy has gone from our midst, and the tears from our side as well.

Since all things that exist are alive through your scent,
O sun, do not take your shadow from us as well.

Since the freshness of tulip and rose is the bounty of your beauty,
O cloud of kindness, rain on me, who am dust, as well.

Hafez has become the captive of your tress: fear God,
and the justice of the vizier with the power of Jamshid as well.

The Proof of the Kingdom and the Faith, through whose hand in the vizierate
the age has the mine on its right hand, and the sea on its left as well.

In memory of his luminous judgement, the sky at morning
gives up its soul, and scatters the stars as well.

The ball of the earth is carried off by the polo stick of his justice,
and this raised dome, the dark-blue enclosure, as well.

Your resolve, light on the rein, sets in motion
this steadfast centre of the lofty orbit as well.

As long as, from the working of the sky and the manner of its turning,
there is the changing of month and year, and of autumn and spring as well,

May the palace of his majesty never be empty of lords,
and of cupbearers of cypress stature and rose cheeks as well.
