Ghazal 63: No one has seen your face, and you have a thousand watchers

No one has seen your face, and you have a thousand watchers;
you are still in the bud, and you have a hundred nightingales.

If I have come to your street, it is not so strange;
in that country there are thousands of strangers like me.

In love there is no difference between dervish lodge and tavern;
wherever there is anything, the light of the beloved's face is there.

There where they make a show of the work of the cloister,
there is the bell of the monk's temple and the name of the cross.

Who became a lover and the friend did not look on his state?
Sir, there is no pain; otherwise there is a physician.

All this crying out by Hafez is, after all, not for nothing;
there is a strange story and a wondrous tale in it.

Interpretation of the fal

What you want is sought by many others; you are not alone, so do not be discouraged. There is more than one road to it, and a sincere intention arrives from anywhere. If your seeking is genuine and deeply felt, you will certainly be noticed. Your effort and your appeals are not in vain.
