You can use this site without telling us anything about yourself. We show no adverts, we do not track you across other sites, and we do not sell or share data for marketing.
Your language and display settings, your saved ghazals, your past fals, the intention you type and your notes are stored in your own browser. Without an account, none of this is sent to us. When you send a fal to a friend, the names and message travel inside the link itself and are not stored on our server.
We store your email address, a copy of your notebook, and your password in a protected (hashed) form that we cannot read. If you use “Continue with Google”, we receive your email address and an account identifier from Google instead of a password; we get no access to your Google data. We use these only to sign you in and to keep your notebook the same on your devices.
Only messages about your account: a link to confirm your email, a welcome note, a password reset link when you ask for one, and notices that your password was changed or your account deleted. We send no newsletters or advertising. Mail is sent through our mailbox provider, mailbox.org.
Sign-up and password reset are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks signals from your browser to tell people from automated programs. We also count sign-up attempts using a one-way code derived from your IP address, and failed sign-in attempts per email address; both are deleted within a day. A sign-up that is not confirmed expires after 24 hours.
We set a cookie only when you sign in: it keeps you signed in for up to 30 days. A second cookie lasts ten minutes while you sign in with Google. We use no advertising cookies.
We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics. It uses no cookies and builds no profile of you; it tells us things like how many times a page was opened, from which country and with what kind of browser.
The site is hosted and delivered by Cloudflare. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts. On the Estekhareh page, the translation of a verse is loaded from alquran.cloud or, as a backup, from jsDelivr. As with any website, these services receive your IP address when your browser requests a file from them.
Clear your browser data to remove everything kept on your device. On the account page you can sign out, or delete your account, which removes your email, password and notebook from our server straight away. To ask what we hold about you or to have it corrected, write to us.
